THE SPELLBOUND
A member of the rock band BOOM BOOM SATELLITES, which debuted in Europe in 1997 and consists of 中野雅之 and 川島道行.
Following the release of a 12-inch single in Europe, the UK music magazine ｢Melody Maker｣ reported , and 「Joyride」 also won Single of the Week in NME magazine, making him one of Japan's premier creators.
After performing at Glastonbury and touring Europe and America with Underworld, Moby, and others, he further established his reputation as a live band and serves as a headliner at domestic festivals in Japan. He handled the music for the 2004 film 『APPLESEED』, and continuing to evolve, his 2005 album ｢FULL OF ELEVATING PLEASURES｣ was released nationwide in the US and ranked high on the CMJ (college chart).
Subsequently, his song 「Scatterin'Monkey」 is featured in key scenes of director Luc Besson's film ｢YAMAKASI｣ and the Academy Award-winning film 「The Dark Knight」.
In October 2016, 川島道行 passed away, and after releasing ｢LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME｣, his final recording, he began his work as a producer. He has handled a wide range of sound production, including producing artists active in the Japanese pop scene such as MAN WITH A MISSION, DAOKO, and milet, as well as producing character voices for the voice synthesis software Synthesizer V, POPY and ROSE.
Starting in 2020 with THE SPELLBOUND, a rock band marking the second chapter of BOOM BOOM SATELLITES, and continuing through 2025, he continues to create unique music that elevates electronic and rock elements as both a producer and member of a rock band.
